Art with Watson
How man sees machine is a well-documented subject. But what about how machine sees man? The IBM Watson ‘Hidden Portraits’ exhibit explored the true nature of seven of the world’s most profound thinkers through insights uncovered by AI. My partner and I worked with the artists at Taylor James to bring the insights Watson uncovered about Charles Darwin to life through an interactive piece.
Evolution: The Game
We had Watson analyze Darwin’s entire collection of books, journals, sketches, personal letters, and field notes. In that analysis we found there was a strong resemblance between the concepts outlined in Darwin’s theory and that of game theory, and the concepts behind puzzles and games. That insight lead us to explore the idea of evolution as a game itself—one that, when played to the end, allows us to discover something new and see how we’re all connected.
